Platform Festival and more

Platform Festival
From 24th-31st March, arts events will be taking place across Perthshire for the second Platform Festival, including poetry, music and visual art. This year, I will again be participating in both the Perthshire Visual Arts Forum and Perthshire Open Studios exhibitions, as part of the festival.
See www.platformperth.co.uk for full event details.

Perthshire Visual Arts Forum have been busy piecing together an art trail, a series of pop-up exhibitions across various venues, including the beautiful Branklyn Gardens, situated on Dundee Road, Perth. Around six artists will have work at Branklyn, and I’m in the process of making some small paintings on perspex that will be placed around the gardens themselves – so it will be a bit of a treasure hunt of sorts.

Perthshire Open Studios will be hosting an exhibition within Frames Gallery on Victoria Street, Perth, featuring a selection of artworks from POS 2017 participants. There are around 30 artists taking part in this show, so it’ll showcase the diversity of talent from around the local area. I’ve included a smaller painting that was completed around the time of POS 2017, and look forward to seeing how Hugh and team curate such an eclectic mix of work!

Looking ahead, in May the fabulous arTay marquee will be returning for Perthshire Festival of the Arts, of which I am delighted to be taking part on again. There’s always a buzz about the place, both in setting up with all the other artists, and with the huge number of visitors to the event each year.

Another published article on my work!
Last but not least, my work was again featured in a published article, this time for the Scottish Society of Botanical Artists. Editor Lindesay Irvine approached me about writing an article, having seen the piece I wrote for the Scottish Rock Garden Club back in January. I’ve attached a link to the full newsletter here: Nuntii Spring 2018, the article itself is on pages 7 and 8.
