I’m delighted to have some of my work included in the BBC’s Your Paintings website, in partnership with The Public Catalogue Foundation. The work included here is in collections at NHS Tayside and Grampian Hospitals Art Trust.

I’ve just hung some paintings at one of my favourite places in Fife – Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm, near Falkland. Why not pop in for a fair-trade coffee, some home baking or a wonderful organic, vegetarian lunch… and take a look at these paintings too!

For those of you in and around the Glasgow area, be sure to visit The Annan Gallery on Woodlands Road. For the next week or so, they have my 6ft square painting entitled ‘Euphoria’ taking up most of their window!

Here’s some recent photos of a painting in progress. You can see the reddish brown ‘ground’ and the under drawing slowly disappear. I draw a grid on the canvas before creating the under drawing, to scale up from the photograph.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well it’s been quite a busy time over the last month or so… A successful show with Annan Gallery in April, and an equally successful Bristol Art Fair with Frames Gallery, hosting art classes with a stroke group in Kirkcaldy and also with Primary 1 and 2 children this week! Great to work with so many enthusiastic people, we had a lot of fun playing with paint.

Now I’m enjoying some time back in the studio… just got a new supply of stretcher bars and canvas, so happily building stretchers in between painting and more painting! Not long till the next couple of exhibitions at Frames Gallery and The Gatehouse Gallery, so if you’re in Perth or Glasgow soon, drop by for a look.
